Lesson Plan from ESL 118G:
Vowel Sounds "æ" and "ɛ"
In this lesson, we focused on the distinction between the vowel sounds "æ" and "ɛ", such as in the words "bad" and "bed", respectively. This is a difficult distinction for English language learners from a variety of language backgrounds, since the "ae" sound is uncommon, and does not exist in many languages. However, it is an important distinction to be able to make, particularly in American English.
